There are numerous problems with German-style denazification. This effort was by no means simply a failed denazification. Instead, it was a well-crafted strategy to commemorate the Holocaust on the one hand – largely as a façade – while on the other hand those who enabled and financed Nazism, Hitler, and the Holocaust remained, on the whole, untouched.
